Sundar Pichai Profile - Sundar Pichai is a Senior Vice President of Chrome at Google. He was previously VP of Product Management at Google. Sundar joined Google in 2004. He leads the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google’s search and consumer products, including iGoogle, Google Toolbar, Google Chrome, Desktop Search and Gadgets, Google Pack, and Gears.
Sundar Pichai brings more than 12 years of experience developing high-tech consumer and enterprise products. Before joining Google, he held various engineering and product management positions at Applied Materials, and was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company for a variety of software and semiconductor clients.
Sundar Pichai received a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology and was awarded an Institute Silver Medal. He holds an M.S. from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar.

Sundar Pichai joined Google in 2004 where he led the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google's client software products, including Google Chrome and Chrome OS, as well as being largely responsible for Google Drive. He went on to oversee the development of different apps like Gmail and Google Maps. On November 19, 2009, Pichai gave a demonstration of Chrome OS. On May 20, 2010, he announced the open-sourcing of the new video codec VP8 by Google, and introduced the new video format WebM to the public. He has been a Director of Jive Software, since April 2011. Sundar Pichai is married and has a daughter and a son.
Succession to Andy Rubin in Android leadership
On March 13, 2013, Larry Page announced that Pichai would add Android to the list of Google products he oversees, including Chrome and Chrome OS. Android was formerly managed by Andy Rubin who will be co-lead with founder Larry Page in ultra secretive Google X Labs.
