Asus PadFone 2: The new Asus PadFone 2 is hardly a secret. Stories about the Taiwanese tech titan’s new blower have been kicking around for weeks. But now new certification docs have confirmed it’ll have 4G tech, making it a great iPhone 5 alternative on these shores.
The approval docs from the Global Certification Forum show 4G working in Europe, Latin America and Asia. A US LTE edition is not mentioned in the documents, but is expected to land alongside the Euro model of the Asus PadFone 2.

The new Asus PadFone 2’s official features haven’t been unveiled, but we’ve heard it would come with a quad-core Qualcomm processor, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. And now, thanks to the fact that the Global Certification Forum has approved it, we can confirm the Asus PadFone 2 has LTE connectivity (on bands 3, 7, and 20 – usable only in Europe, Asia, and Latin America). A PadFone 2 version with US-friendly LTE will probably show up soon, too.

Like the first Asus PadFone, the Asus PadFone 2 will be comprised of a smartphone, and a tablet dock. There’s no word on how much it will Asus PadFone 2 price but it’s certainly not going to be cheap.
