Google Nexus 4 Wireless Charger - Google’s Nexus 4 wireless charger has been a creature only of legend up until today, even though the phone itself shipped months ago, late in 2012. Now, though, American buyers can get their orb orders Google Nexus 4 Wireless Charger price in for $59.99 for the Qi-based inductive charger for Google’s latest Android reference smartphone.

Estimated shipping for the Nexus 4 Wireless Charger, as it is so blandly named, is listed as being at under one week as of this writing. The charger takes around four hours to charge the Nexus 4 from empty to full and ships with a micro USB cable, and a plug designed for use in North America (we suspect other regions will see different plugs). It weighs 130 grams and props up the Nexus 4 at an angle to provide easy viewing.

Google Nexus 4 Wireless Charger price, It's simple, it's stylish, and it chargers your phone wirelessly - it's also a little Google Nexus 4 Wireless Charger pricey at $59

There's really not a whole lot to say about the Nexus 4 Wireless Charger. It's a $59 Qi-standard compatible wireless charger that charges your Nexus 4. Plug it in, put the phone on it, and go. No muss, no fuss, thank you, drive through. This one's made specifically for the Nexus 4, though presumably other Qi-standard phones will work with it. Unlike, say, the Palm Touchstone, this one relies less on magnets to keep phone in place on the inclined face of the charger and more on the tackiness of the face of the charger itself. The rubber of the charger meets the glass of the phone, and it's not going anywhere. (It is quick to collect dust and lint, though.)

In the box you'll find a 5V 1.8A AC adapter (vs. 1.2A for the one supplied with the Nexus 4) along with a micro-USB cable (longer than the one provided with the handset). The manual warns to "use only the power adapter and micro-USB cable that come with your Nexus 4 Wireless Charger", but we didn't have any trouble with other USB power sources beyond longer charging times.

Engadget tested the dock with the Nexus 4, Droid DNA, Lumia 920 and Lumia 822 (with the optional Wireless Charging Cover) -- basically, LG's accessory provides the same experience as Nokia's Wireless Charging Plate ($50), which is also Qi-compatible. The $10 difference buys you a matching design and a spare USB power adapter and micro-USB cable (Nokia's plate comes with a proprietary AC adapter). It takes about 4 hours to fully charge Google's flagship phone using wireless power -- check out the gallery above for some action shots.
