Apple iTV 60 inch - Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White said in a Wednesday note to investors that a "full blown Apple iTV' will launch in 2013," citing a meeting with a tech supply chain company.
"The 'iTV' ecosystem represents a major innovation for the $100 billion LCD TV industry that will revolutionize the TV experience forever," White said, who tipped a 60-inch device that could also come in 50- and 55-inch options.
But a simple television set isn't enough for Cupertino — it needs some sparkle. Enter the "iRing." According to White, this miniature device would be placed on a viewer's finger to act as a "navigation pointer" for the iTV, enhancing motion detection and negating some functionality of a handheld remote.
The iRing may conjure visions of family members guarding the piece of electronic jewelry like one of Tolkien's hobbits, but it may not be the only iTV accessory. White speculated that the rumored iWatch would complement the iRing, providing increased mobility around the home.
Additionally, White said the iTV would come with a smaller "mini iTV screen." Users could send content from the iTV to this mini iTV in order to continue watching content as they moved from room to room in the house. But "while the 'mini iTV' screens will be similar in size compared to the iPad, and thus allow for some manufacturing efficiencies, the capabilities and features will be very basic and thus not an iPad replacement," White said.

White claims that the basic iTV package would include one such mini iTV, with customers able to add on additional screens up to a maximum of four. He notes that while some aspects of the mini iTV would be similar to the full-size iPad and thus benefit from manufacturing efficiencies, they would have much more limited functionality and features.
White believes that the entire iTV package would be priced at $1500-$2500 depending on how many auxiliary mini iTVs are ordered, with some service providers perhaps subsidizing the cost to draw in customers.
Several of White's new claims appear to a fleshing out of his previous reports that have cited motion control and "iPad-like" touchscreen remotes. Still, while Apple has been said to be trying to revolutionize the television industry, White's reported feature set seems difficult to believe and has so far been uncorroborated.
After a lull in Apple television rumors while many observers turned their attention toward the company's iWatch efforts, reports on the iTV are beginning to ramp up again with White's report coming on the heels of rumors of a 4K "Ultra HD" set perhaps launching late this year or early next year.
