Samsung Galaxy S3 Purple - Last month, a purple Galaxy S3 first reared its regal-hued exterior accompanied by claims that it would launch on Sprint sometime in April. Tonight, a tipster sent a screenshot our way that's pegged the aubergine handset for an April 12th release on the Now Network. With the help of a $50 mail-in rebate, you'll be able to pick up the 16GB variant of the smartphone for $99 on a two-year contract. Finally, a phone that'll match our impeccable taste in handheld gaming consoles.
Samsung's Galaxy S4 and purple Galaxy S3 both expected to hit the market in April
A purple version of Samsung's Galaxy S3 is rumored to be available on Sprint as early as next month. The image above, originally posted by evleaks, shows off the purple model of the phone, but actual details are sparse. Given the fact that Samsung's brand new Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone is also expected to launch sometime in April, you'll likely be able to score the purple predecessor for a fraction of the cost. So far, Samsung's Galaxy S3 has been offered in several different color options, including red, white, grey, brown and black.
Samsung revealed its Galaxy S4 device during its "Unpacked" event at Radio City Music Hall last week. While the presentation itself is still baffling to those who watched it in its entirety, the actual phone turned out to be pretty sweet. The Galaxy S4 ended up being in line with many of the rumors we've heard in the previous months leading up to its launch.
With a five-inch screen and smooth plasticky body, it actually looks a lot like its Galaxy S3 predecessor. However, it is a touch thinner than the older model, and the plastic-looking case isn't really plastic, it's actually polycarbonate. It runs on Google's most current Android operating system, known as Jelly Bean -- which is rather unfortunate considering Key Lime Pie is supposed to surface as soon as May during Google's annual I/O developer's conference.
The Galaxy S4 also features Samsung's TouchWiz technology with a number of new features including Air View, S Voice, and S Translator, among others. And yes, it does offer that eye-tracking technology we've heard so much about it, but it's not quite what you might have expected. Rather than your eyes doing all the work, you actually have to tilt the device in order for it to know that it has to scroll.
As previously mentioned, Samsung's Galaxy S4 is scheduled to launch toward the end of April with all four major U.S. carriers.
