Asus Transformer AiO Price In US, Buy Online

Asus Transformer AiO - Asus has revealed the first details on its Transformer AiO tablet during CES 2013, which is able to run both Windows 8 and Android as its operating systems. But today it finally released firm specs, a release date, and a price for its gargantuan tablet.

At first glance, the Transformer AiO looks like a regular Windows 8 all-in-one: it's got Windows 8, a Core i5 or i7 processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM, a dedicated graphics card (a 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 730M), up to 2TB of storage, and an 18.4-inch 1080p capacitive touchscreen. Remove that display from its dock, however, and it instantly switches into an unwieldy 5.2-pound Android 4.1 tablet, powered by a Tegra 3 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. If that sounds insane, that's because it is.

The Transformer AiO isn't really comparable to traditional hybrid devices, such as Asus' Transformer Pad Infinity or Microsoft's Surface series. You'll be running two different OSes, on two separate sets of hardware, meaning that when you switch between Windows and Android you won't be taking your tasks with you. If you're into using Google services such as Chrome sync, docs, and mail, that may not be a huge issue — Android will automatically sync up with what you're doing — but if you use desktop applications to get things done, your Android experience won't be particularly integrated with your Windows 8 apps.

Asus Transformer AiO Price In US

Asus is launching the Transformer AiO in the US this spring starting at $1,299. That price will get you a Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage on the Windows side, and a Tegra 3, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage for the Android tablet.

Powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core processor for running Windows 8 applications and an Nvidia Tegra quad-core processor for Android (4.1 Jelly Bean), users can choose between either platform at "the press of a button".

Accompanied by height and tilt adjustments, the super-sized tablet also features Asus' SonicMaster technology, which the company claims to offer "crystal-clear sound" via its integrated speakers.

A launch period wasn't revealed for the Transformer AiO. However, the firm did reveal pricing details: the tablet will start at $1,299 with an Intel Core i3 processor, with higher prices for the versions housing Intel Core i5 and i7 chips.
